Beauty Gift: Philosophy’s The Ice Cream Man set
A couple of years ago, my best friend sent me a gift set containing Philopsophy’s The Ice Cream Man products. I’ve been hooked ever since, and will buy this little guy everywhere I can find him. Not only do the products smell as sweet as, well, ice cream, but they taste pretty good, too. Well, not the bath foam or body lotion, obviously. I mean, I wouldn’t know how they taste… I can, however, vouch for the lip gloss, which tastes a little bit too good (I’m pretty sure you’re not really meant to eat it) and gives a really high shine, clear coverage. This gift set is a nice way to sample the line (or to send to someone else. Like, maybe me? Just sayin’). You get the lipgloss, bubble bath and "body souffle" (seriously, try not to eat it), all packed in this pretty little pink case, for $38. "A good man is sweeet" says Philosophy. Well, who can argue with that? Dollface Reviews: Botanics Soothing Eye Make Up Remover
Luckily, though, I had a secret weapon up my sleeve. Well, it wasn’t actually up my sleeve, but you know what I mean. This is another Boots product (can you tell I’ve been to Boots today?), this time from their Botanics range, and it’s the closest thing you’ll get to Bi-Facil without actually buying Bi-Facil. It’s called Botanics Soothing Eye Makeup Remover, and, like the Lancome remover, comes in two layers: you just shake the bottle then apply. It removes even waterproof mascara easily, and, best of all, is only £2.99. I have to admit to being a little bit apprehensive about using it, though – I notice it’s been revamped since I last use it, so I’m hoping it’s still as good as it used to be. Time will tell…

Skincare on Trial: Boots Refine & Rewind Intense Perfecting Serum
Now, I have to confess I’m cheating every so slightly with this. I’ve used Refine & Rewind before, when the BBC’s Horizon show first revealed how good these serums are believed to be, and I loved it. That was a couple of months ago, though, and since the bottle ran out I haven’t been looking after my skin as well I should, so now seemed as good a chance as ever to give it another go, and to review it properly for Hey, Dollface! But first, a little bit more about why this serum is supposed to be so special…

Lip Light lets you apply your lipstick in the dark
Well, wouldya lookit that! It’s a lipstick with a light in the lid, that allows you to see the way to your mouth, so that you can apply your lipstick in the dark. Why would you want to apply your lipstick in the dark, though? Um, pass. The picture really tells you everything you need to know about how this works, leaving me to tell you that it’s made by ModelCo, costs $32 and is available in five different shades – but only to those of you who live in Australia. So now you know.

Urban Decay celebrate their 10th birthday with the Urban Ammo Eye Palette
Urban Decay is 10 years old (say aww!) and, to celebrate, they’ve brought out this collection of ten of their best selling eyeshadows. There’s something here to suit everyone, and at $34 it’s a good way to try out some shades you perhaps wouldn’t have thought of. The packaging is pretty cute, too, with velvety flocking on matt black paper. Shades included are: Smog (deep coppery bronze), Maui Wowie (sandy sheen), Mildew

Lancome launch a new mascara – Courbe Virtuose Divine Lasting Curves Mascara
This promises to act as a hairspray for your eyelashes – it’ll basically curl them and then keep them that way for up to 12 hours. It’s the first time Lancome have experimented with a curved mascara wand, and as I’ve always thought the quality of their brushes is the secret of Lancome’s success in the world of mascara, I’ll be really interested to try this one out. It also promises to be smudge and tear proof. Has anyone already tried it?

Beauty Poll: Do you use fake tan?I’m a redhead, which means that I have pale blue skin that burns if I so much as stand under a light bulb. No sun-tanning for me, then. Most of the time I quite like my pale skin, but when it comes to summer (or any occasion where I need to get my legs out), well, there’s no denying I look better with a bit of a tan. It makes my legs look thinner, my skin look healthier, my stomach look flatter – or it does when I get it right, anyway. Every summer, then, out comes the fake tan and I begin the process of trying to maintain that sun-kissed look. And every winter, back it goes into the cupboard, and I once again embrace my milky-white looks. I love having a little bit of a tan, but I hate the high-maintenance aspect of staying that way, and so a constant battle rages between me and my fake tan bottle. Gah. Enough about me, though: what about you? Do you use fake tan religiously, or do you prefer the pale and interesting look? Cast your vote in the poll below (the results will become visible once you’ve voted). Fake Tan on Trial: Johnson’s Holiday Skin reviewed
a) streak Each of these three points is of equal importance, but having risen from my bed once again this week to find the sheets resembling the Turin shroud, with a perfect imprint of my body in fake tan, the situation is getting desperate. What I’d also like: A fake tan that: So here’s how it’s going to work: I’m going to gradually work my way through each and every fake tan on the market, not stopping until I find my Holy Grail fake tan. And I’m going to review them all here at Hey-Dollface. I’d love it if those of you who’ve tried the products being tested could leave your own comments on the review in question, so that we can build up a fuller picture on how well each product really works. This week we’re kicking off with a classic:
