Revitalash -longer eyelashes in 90 days, apparently
I’m always more than a little skeptical about products that claim to make your eyelashes grow longer, but given that the majority of Revitalash reviewers over at Amazon seem to be giving it five stars and saying things like "it made my eyelashes triple in length", I’m almost persuaded that I should be giving this a shot.
This is basically an eyelash conditioner. You apply it once per day, like eyeliner, and the claim being made by the manufacturers is that "No matter how short, fragile, thin, or sparse your eye lashes are, RevitaLash can help you achieve long, beautiful, healthy looking eyelashes."
This will all happen in anything between 3 to ten weeks, apparently, and will cost you $139. Now, I was tempted until I read the price: what does everyone else think?

Celebrity Beauty: Lily Allen at the 2007 British Style Awards
Her dress may have been a little on the odd side, but I absolutely loved Lily Allen’s makeup at last night’s British Style Awards.
The thick eyeliner and retro flicks have something of the Amy Winehouse about them, and I somehow think we’re going to see a whole lot more of this look in the coming months. The rest of the look is toned down to make the eyes the focus, with natural, glossy lops and a shimmery pink cheek colour. Gorgeous!
The swept back half-up/half down hairdo is just the perfect finishing touch!
Dollface Reviews: Maybelline Pure Makeup foundation
This foundation was actually an emergency purchase for me a few months ago. I was on holiday and noticed that my regular foundation was running low, so I picked up this in the supermarket to tide me over until I could get home and begin the lengthy (well, I am a makeup addict!) process of trying to decide what my next foundation purchase should be.
I’ll be completely honest: I choose Maybelline’s Pure Makeup solely because it was the end of the vacation, funds were running low, and it was the cheapest foundation on the display – I think it was around $5. Because of the low price and the lack of thought that had gone into this purchase, I really wasn’t expecting much from it, so I was really surprised when I wore it the next day and had the first compliment I’ve had in years on my skin. (OK, it was from my mother, but hey, it still counts!)
I tried it again when I got home and was really surprised to find that this $5 foundation was actually… really good. Read on for the review…
Nicola Roberts from Girls Aloud to launch makeup line for pale skin?
A little bird (oh, OK, it wasn’t a little bird at all – it was the This Morning TV show) tells me that Nicola Roberts, perhaps better known as "the ginger one from Girls Aloud" (God, I hate the word "ginger" as applied to redheads!) is to start her own makeup line for people with pale skin.
No official confirmation on this as yet, so I’ve no idea which company, if any, would be behind this, but if it’s true, I think it’s a great idea. As a fellow redhead, I know only too well the problems the pale-skinned can have finding colours to suit, and when your hair’s a vivid colour too, it can make things even more difficult. I’ll be interested to see what Nicola’s new venture comes up with, if anything.

What a great idea! Or at least “what a novelty”, because who knows how well this will work? Not me, but because I’m drawn to anything a little bit different in the makeup line, I can’t wait to try it out, anyway. It’s called Rollerblush and it’s – yup, you guessed it – blush on a roll! The roller dispenses little sheets of blush paper, each of which holds a sweep of colour. Just swipe them over your cheeks, and you’re done! Or that’s the theory anyway – it’ll cost you $10 to find out if it actually works.

Given that it’s one of my favourite cosmetics brands, it’s not normally hard for me to spend more than $45 at Benefit in one go, so I’m particularly pleased to hear about their new lip gloss offer. I’ve heard so many great things about Shu Uemuras’s eyelash curlers that I’m almost embarrassed to admit that I don’t own a set. Well, not yet, anyway. If I was in the US right now, though, I’d be sorely tempted to buy this new mini version, which has been created exclusively for Nordstrom. Now, I’m such a believer in the importance of a good eyelash curler that when I got married earlier this year, I actually bought a spare set, just in case anything should happen to the existing set on the morning of the wedding. (Don’t laugh – it’s the sort of thing that happens to me). That’s how much I love my eyelash curlers. Would I love these ones in particular? Lush release ‘Handy Gurugu’ hand cream
My hands are always super-dry at this time of year, so I’m making a mental note to stop by Lush the next time I’m in town and pick up a pot of their new Handy Gurugu hand cream. Whether it will meet the Holy-Grail-Hand-Cream criteria (very moisturising but also very quickly absorbed, because who has time to wander around unable to touch anything because they just applied hand cream, and now their hands are all greasy and slippy) is anyone’s guess, but it does sound good.
It’s handmade from shea butter which has had lots of other natural oils and butter added to it, plus soothing essential oils and rosewater. Oh, and it has the word "gurugu" in its name. What more could you ask?
