Although I’m more of a lipstick lover than a gloss girl, I have to admit to a certain fondness for Lancome’s Juicy Tubes. They’re just so moreish: buy one, you’ll want to buy them all, and if that’s the case, the latest line to add to your collection is the Sparkling Night Ultra Shiny Gloss.
Now, you would expect these glosses to be sparkly and shiny, given the name, and you wouldn’t be disappointed. According to Neiman Marcus, they "deliver high-tech, kaleidoscopic color" – and who doesn’t want some of that on their lips over the party season?
The glosses come in six different colours – Constellation, Heavenly Body, Sky Diamond, Star Shower, Star Wish or Twinkle – and are $17.50 each.

I had to blink a few times when I read the price of this, because I was sure I had to be seeing things, but no, Superdrug really are selling this three-piece skincare set by Shiseido for £12.99, so I’d snap one up quick if I were you…
It contains Creamy Cleansing Foam Wash (75ml), Enriched Balancing Softener Lotion (100 ml) and Daytime Protective Moisturiser with SPF15 (75ml) and will suit most skin types. On the off-chance that it won’t suit yours, though, they’re also selling the Pureness Set, which is suitable for younger skin, and the Benifiance set, for mature skin, for the same price.

Givenchy’s No Surgenics line isn’t something I’ve tried, but I’m very tempted to order a couple of items from the line since reading about how well it performed on How to Look Good Naked.
The Plastic Sculpt Mask was a particular hit, apparently, being voted Best Face Mask on all count. Tested over a three week period, 81% of those tested found their facial features to have lost their puffiness, while 84% found the outline of their face was firmer.
The mask is inspired by the three steps of a face lift, so it works to tone, re-shape and re-define the facial features by firming, de-puffing and draining the skin, thus defining the facial contours.
Sounds good to me, but will it actually work, I wonder? Anyone out there tried it?

When it comes to perfume, I have to admit to being not very adventurous, and for that read "not adventurous at all". I’ll chop and change my makeup and skincare all the time, constantly trying out new things, but with fragrance I like the idea of having one "signature scent", and for me, that signature scents is Jean Paul Gaultier’s Classique. I have the Eau de Toilette, the body lotion and the body spray, and if it wasn’t for the fact that I’ve spent too much money already this month (and we’re only one week in – gulp!) I’d probably have the Holiday version of the scent, too.
There’s no difference in the Eau de Toilette itself, here: it’s still the classic (or classique, rather) combination of rose, orange blossom and vanilla, but the difference is that this month it’s all dressed up in this sparkly bottle. Which makes all the difference, trust me.
It costs $82 for the 3.3 oz spray, or you can buy the 1.6 oz spray with the body lotion for $65.

When I first found this, I got all excited thinking it was a stocking filled with cosmetics. It’s just the stocking, though, folks, which explains the $3 price tag, but wouldn’t exactly be a great gift on its own.
Of course, the idea isn’t to gift it on it’s own, though – that would be silly. No, the idea is to fill it up with e.l.f cosmetics, which would be a helluva lot more interesting. Or you could always buy it for yourself, and leave it hanging on the chimney as a great big hint to whoever it is who plays Santa Claus in your family….

It’s time for another super-expensive skincare set, folks, for the benefit of those who can afford to drop $750 on skincare – or who have someone willing to do it for them: well, it is the season of giving, after all. And of conspicuous consumption.
This set is by Natura Bisse, and it contains:
• Diamond Bio-Lift Eye Contour Cream • Diamond Drops serum. • Diamond Extreme Cream • Glyco Extreme Peel
I’ve never used this brand, so I have no idea whether it’s worth the price, but I’d be interested to hear from anyone who has tried it!

Oh, ’tis definitely the season to be shimmery, that’s for darn sure. This may look like a solid silver brick (Which would be nice too, of course), but no, it’s Trish McEvoy’s Eye Highlights – a shimmery concoction which you can sweep over your eyeshadow to add a silver or gold shimmer, use on its own, or even us e- sparingly, I would suggest – on your face.
The transclucent formula will highlight, as the name suggests, rather than provide a deep colour, so if you’re looking for a very obvious gold or silver glitter effect, try a regular glitter eyeshadow instead.

While wearing both of these items together might be just a little bit OTT (unless, of course, you’re fifteen, and can get away with such things), individually they make a nice way to add a little bit of sparkle to your party makeup.
Sparkle Pot is an iridescent glitter, which you can dust lightly over your face and body, where the particles will catch the light and make you literally sparkle. I have a version of this from another brand, the name of which escapes me for the moment, and although the theory is good, in practice I found I was picking glitter out of my hair, clothes and rugs for months afterwards, so be warned!
The Glitter Eyeliner, meanwhile, is exactly what it says on the tube: a liquid eyeliner with glitter. It comes in two shades – Star Light and Diamond Night, and is $13.50.

There’s just no end to the Christmas-themed cosmetics, is there? The latest firm to jump on the festive bandwagon (or should that be "sleigh"? ) is Pupa, who are already well known for their makeup palettes, and who have given their latest collection a distinctly festive theme, dressing up their eye colour palettes as Christmas cards.
There are six different colour combinations to choose from, each of which comes with a different festive item on the front, be a Christmas tree, Christmas pudding, stars or candy canes. They’re £3 each, and would make a good stocking filler – it’s just a shame they didn’t make one that looks like an actual Christmas stocking….

I know I talk a lot here about beauty products that look and smell so good that you almost want to eat them, but Urban Decay have just become my new heroes by making their Marshmallow body shimmer, which you can actually eat. Praise the Lord!
Not only will it make your skin shimmer, the claim is that it also tastes exactly like real marshmallows – and because it’s likable, you don’t have to take their word for it, you can find out for yourself. I’m tempted. I’m very, very tempted…
