Rimmel London Renew & Lift Foundation promises to do great things to your skin
I’m currently in the market for a new foundation, and after reading about Rimmel London’s Renew & Lift, I think I’m definitely going to have to give it a try. Why? Well, let’s see…
This product promises to:
* Regenerate and lift skin in just 12 days
* Restore radiance
* Give a flawless, dewy finish that lasts all day
How does it do it? Well, it contains peptides and ceramides that will apparently help tighten your skin and eliminate fine lines, and God knows I could be doing with some of that. Has anyone out there tried this? Did you see any results in the 12 days it’s supposed to take to make a difference?

Avon Colour Trend Valentine’s Day Lipstick
That heart-shaped nail polish we showed you earlier this week by Avon? Also available as a lipstick. Well, come on, you can’t expect them NOT to milk every possible opportunity to add hearts to things, can you? Everyone else is doing it, after all!
This is available in six different colours, is a cheap n’ cheerful $2,99, and, most importantly, is heart shaped. Now, I don’t know why heart-shaped lipstick appeals to me, but it does. Will it be easy to apply, though, and will I still like it when the heart’s all been rubbed away, though, I wonder?
Hershey’s Sweet Milk Chocolate Lip Balm
Oh good Lord, is every confectionery company in the word making the move into cosmetics, suddenly? We’ve had Ben and Jerry’s lip balm, Jelly Belly bath salts, and now Hershey’s have jumped aboard the bandwagon with their Sweet Milk Chocolate Candy Lip Balm. Ah, who cares if the idea’s been done before – if there’s a candy flavoured bandwagon in town, I’m on it!
This is described as a "novelty" lip balm, but it contains SPF 15, and still claims to moisturise and soften your lips. Perhaps more importantly, it tastes and smells like chocolate. Yum!

Timelapse Wand – a wrinkle treatment in a stick
A portable "magic wand" that gets rid of wrinkles in minutes? Sounds good to me… and if the information that came with the Timelaspse Wand is to be believed, it’ll leave us all looking pretty good, too, treating wrinkles and fine lines on the spot (or on the line, rather), and helping to counteract the drying effect of winter air by keeping the skin moisturised.
The product was developed by Dr. George Semel, a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon and anti-aging specialist who created his "wrinkle cream on a stick" to allow us to fight back wrinkles throughout the day by giving them a quick zap with the wand.
The wand itself contains is a special molecule naturally derived from Spanish lavender oil which reduces muscle contractions, thus reducing fine lines and wrinkles. It sounds a little bit like Botox in a stick, although without the risks. It also contains ingredients to promote collagen organization and help your skin renew itself.
Ah, but does it actually work, though? I hear you ask. Well, the effects of the Timelaspse Wand are said to be cumulative, so I’ll be trying it out over the next few weeks, and letting you know how I get on. So far, though, my initial impressions are positive: it smells good, is small and portable, and when I tried it on that stubborn smile line at the side of my mouth, I did notice a difference, albeit a small one. Let’s see how it works on other lines, over the longer term…

Looks like there’s going to be a whole lot of bathing going on this Valentine’s Day. These bath fizzes may look like Lovehearts sweets, but sadly they’re not edible. Just pop them in your bath rather than in your belly. Each one comes stamped with a message of love. Altogether now – awww!
Valentine’s Day Beauty Gifts: Handmade soap rose petals
The old "bed strewn with rose petals" may seem like a bit of a cliché, but a luxurious bath filled with them – now that sounds just fine by me, although maybe that’s just because my bathroom still resembles a building site at this point in time.
Enough about me and my bathroom, though: onto the Valentine’s Day goodies. (Yes, I’ll stop write about them just as soon as the cosmetics companies stop making them…)
These are soap rose petals which dissolve into a lather in your bath. They come in your choice of pink, red, ivory, yellow or mixed colours (the choice shown here), and they’re $14.
Daisy by Marc Jacobs Valentine’s Day Set
Marc Jacob’s ‘Daisy’ was an instant hit last year (the solid perfume ring version remains one of the most searched-for posts here at Hey, Dollface) when it launched last year. The pretty, daisy-decorated perfume bottle makes it an obvious choice as a Valentine’s Day gift, and the company have clearly decided to make the most of the opportunity, creating this Valentine’s Day gift set, containing the eau de toilette, body lotion and shower gel. $60 buys the lot, but make sure the recipient likes the smell first if you’re buying it as a gift!

There really is no end to the number of beauty products you can try and sell on the basis that they’re "for Valentine’s Day", is there? As far as I can tell, the two main principles are that the product in question has to be:
