Dr Pepper flavoured lip gloss, anyone?
Yes, it’s yet another in what’s becoming a long, long line of lip glosses that taste like food – or in this case, drinks. This is Bonne Belle’s Lip Smacker lip gloss in Dr Pepper flavour, so if you love that slightly sickly taste in a drink, you can have it on your lips all day long.
If you fancy a change of taste, meanwhile, this comes packed with two other flavoured glosses – bubble gum and wild raspberry flavours – and the price is $8.99 for all three.

Urban Decay’s Brow Box tames your eyelashes
Now, is it just me, or does this product seem almost exactly the same as Benefit’s Brow Zings? I haven’t tried Brow Box, but I did like Brow Zings (albeit not as much as Speedbrow, which does the same thing better, in my opinion), and, being long and straggly of eyebrow, I’ll try anything that promises to tame the beasts, so I’d happily give this one a shot, too.
The kit basically contains everything you’ll need to keep your eyebrows in check. There’s a miniature set of tweezers (my favourite part of the Brow Zings kit because you just never know when you’re going to have a tweezing emergency and no, I’m not being sarcastic – the fact that I can no longer take my tweezers into the cabin of an aircraft kills me), plus two brow powder shades plus a small drawer containing clear wax, which you can use to hold your eyebrows in place. I guess this is where Urban Decay wins brownie points over Benefit, because their version has brown wax, so you have no choice but to use colour.
All of this comes packaged in a cute purple case, and will set you back around $29.

Tooth Tattoos. The hell?
Of all the money I’ve spent on various beauty products and tools over the years, by far the biggest single expense has been my teeth. Whitening, veneers, checkups – it all adds up, but despite being my single biggest beauty expense, I don’t regret a single penny, because having a white, healthy smile is one of the biggest beauty boosters ever.
Which is why I was completely taken aback by the idea of these tooth tattoos. Now, I’m not sure if this could be called a "beauty craze" exactly (I certainly haven’t met anyone with Elvis’s face on their teeth, but then I don’t get out much…), but it’s apparently growing in popularity, with people visiting their dentists, not to have a clean and polish, but to have the images of their loved ones stuck to their teeth. Dollafce Reviews: Benefit High Brow – brow lifting and enhancing pencil
Another Benefit product, and another wholehearted recommendation from me. This is High Brow – a brow lifting and enhancing pencil or, as I like to think of it, "a face lift in a pencil".
What does it do?
Applied just under the arch of the brow, this enhanced your eyebrows, giving them instant "lift" and creating the appearance of perfect, arched brows, even when you don’t have them. How does it do it? Honestly, I have no idea: it’s hard to put your finger on just what High Brow does to make such a difference, but I can tell you that it does make a difference, making my brows look so much more groomed and dramatic than they do without it. That said, although this looks like it’s going to be a very "eveningy" product, given that it’s essentially a shimmery pencil, it actually goes on fairly naturally, and if you blend it in properly, won’t give you a "plastered with makeup" look.
Dollface tip:
Don’t just use it to highlight your eyebrows. A touch of High Brow in the corner of the eye, next to the nose, will give you a wide-eyed look, and I also use it on the Cupid’s bow of the lips to make them look fuller.

Avon 5-In-1 Portable Nail File
No, it’s not a fan, although I guess you could have a lot of fun fluttering it around and pretending to be Marie Antoinette. If, you know, you were that way inclined…
Actually, though, this has a far more practical use, being Avon’s 5-In-1 Portable Nail File, with each section providing a different surface with which to file, smooth and remove ridges. Perfect if, like me, you have the of snagging a nail each and every time you leave the house.

FredFlare’s Smooth Skin Face Friends. Say ‘Awww!’
I don’t know about you, but I generally wash my face with a regular old washcloth, which does the job but isn’t particularly interesting. Well, I mean, it’s a washcloth – how interesting can it be?
I reckon life would be a whole lot better if I had these little fellows to wash my face with. They’re FredFlare’s Smooth Skin Face Friends, and OK, so I exaggerated about the whole "life being better" thing, but tell the truth, haven’t you always wanted to wash your face on two little terry cloth creatures, of indeterminate species? Thought so.
Smashbox launch Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15
Although you wouldn’t necessarily know it if you lived anywhere in the vicinity of Dollface Towers, summer is on the way (I really hope it is, anyway), and with the warmer weather comes a desire to drop our heavy foundations and powders and go for something a little lighter.
Just in time for spring then, along comes Smashbox’s new Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer. With an SPF of 15, this is the classic easy-to-wear alternative to foundation, perfect for summer holidays, weekends or any other occasion when you want to give yourself a little bit of coverage without going all-out on the foundation.
The moisturiser contains citrus honey ingredients for hydration, vitamins C and E and anti aging peptides. The coverage is said to be matt, and long-lasting, and comes in five different shades.
Yves St Laurent Golden Gloss Shimmering Lip Gloss – 24 carat lips
One for the "seriously luxurious" files, I think…
This is Yves St Laurent’s new Golden Gloss shimmering lip gloss, and it’s not just "golden" by name – it actually contains a smattering of actual, 24 carat gold. OK, it’s only 0.2%, but it’s still a precious metal for your lips, and if you’re scratching your head and wondering why YSL have added real gold to their gloss, don’t worry, I’m scratching mine right along with you.
The gloss also contains mother of pearl, to make it sparkle, plus nourishing oils to prevent dryness. The effect is said to be a mirror shine, and it comes in thirteen different shades. Luckily, the fact that it contains real gold isn’t reflected in the price – it’ll cost you just $28.
Dollface Reviews: Britney Spears ‘Believe’ perfume and body lotion
Do you believe in Britney? I do – or I believe in her new fragrance anyway, which is probably as surprising to you as it was to me, because I’ve always been highly skeptical of celebrity fragrances.
When this review package arrived, then, I was pleasantly surprised. "Great bottle!" said Mr Dollface and I, as I took it out of the box, and indeed, it is a great bottle – satisfyingly chunky and heavy, and nice enough to put out on display. Other than a tiny little heart on the cap, there’s absolutely no other Britney-branding either, making it surprisingly subtle for a lady who’s made a career out of being anything but.
Dollface Reviews: Pencil Me In eye accent pencil from Coastal Scents
This is such a great idea – an eye pencil with a sharpener built into the lid. So simple, but oh-so-handy if, like me, you have a habit of losing some of the smaller items in your beauty box (pencil sharpeners included).
This is Coastal Scent’s Pencil Me In, which comes in 30 different colours. I’ve been trying out the colour shown to the left, which is called ‘Mint Sparks’ – it’s a sparkly, shimmery green which subtly lights up the eyes, and is perfect for evening, but would also be pale enough for a glam daytime look, too. No smudging or fading so far after a few hours use, ad I would love to try the ‘Jet Sparks’ colour, which is black, glittery eye liner – what’s not to love?
