Cherry Amore: The Body Shop Bring Us The Gift of Cherry for their Valentine’s Range.

Body shop wild cherry Cherry Amore: The Body Shop Bring Us The Gift of Cherry for their Valentines Range.

I'm the first to admit that I'm not what you'd call one of The Body Shop's regular customers. Too many interfering shop assistants, and far too much inflation for my liking.

But? They've just released a new Valentine's Day gift set that might yet tempt me in once again.

Wild Cherry Body Bliss  -yours for just £20- is a selection of their bath and body stalwarts (body scrub, body butter, shower gel, soap) with the scent of-you'll never guess this one-wild cherry.

Of course, along with being a sucker for anything even resembling a mascara wand, I also happen to go a bundle on all things cherry scented/flavoured, you name it, if it's cherry, I am all over it. No surprises then that I'm rather keen to get my hands on this little set of goodies.

I was seriously unimpressed with their Strawberry offerings (Calpol, anyone?!), so with any luck The Body Shop will have left the medicine cabinet well alone for this latest fruity collection!

MAC + Hello Kitty – What More Could a Girl Need?

HELLO KITTY MAC + Hello Kitty What More Could a Girl Need?

As you might have guessed by now, this Dollface is rather fond of MAC. And that's fond with a capital F people.

And the Hello Kitty collection- due to launch over here in March- has been on my radar for some time now. Echoing the mega-hype surrounding the Barbie Loves MAC collection from Spring 2007, the Hello Kitty range looks set to eclipse even that.

No mean feat considering just how insanely popular the Barbie collaboration proved to be!

Love her or hate her, the iconic cat (who, incidentally fact fans, is apparently a girl ,according to her creators, Sanrio. Okay…) has mega selling power. This is one Kitty that just won't quit- she can be found gracing everything from laptops, mobile phones and wedding dresses (!) to maternity wards and, er, bowls of noodles

So, little wonder then, that MAC wanted a piece of the action.

The collection- actually two: The Hello Kitty Colour Collection, and Hello Kitty Kouture- comprises an exhaustive inventory of lipsticks; lip glasses; lip conditioners; eyeshadow palettes; glitter eyeliners; beauty powders; nail varnishes and false lashes. All adorned with famous feline's face, naturally.

Dominant colours? Pink, coral, violet, turquoise, and, yep, you guessed it: more pink.

Roll on March is all I can say…

Dollface Reviews: Soap & Glory’s ‘Clean on Me’ Shower Gel

Soap glory clean on me Dollface Reviews: Soap & Glorys Clean on Me Shower Gel

Hands up everyone who's a fan of the wonderfully quirky Soap & Glory

The brainchild of beauty boffin (creator of the uber stylish Bliss spa range) Marcia Kilgore, Soap & Glory has been a runaway success since its launch back in 2006.

Not surprising really considering the  girly retro-esque packaging and playful tongue-in-cheek product names (my favourite being Sexy Mother Pucker. Kudos to the creator of that one). Not to mention that the products actually, you know, work

I hadn't used much from the range until my very lovely friend Laura bought me Clean on Me as a gift. The girl's got immaculate taste, it has to be said, as this shower gel is fabulous.

It's luxuriously rich and moisturising (that'll be the built in body lotion), and the scent can only be described as heavenly. And it lingers for ages as well!

My skin feels soft and nourished after use, and did I mention it smells gorgeous too? Oh, I did? Ok…

So taken am I with Clean on Me that it has swiftly become one of my Holy Grail, must-have, simply-can't-live-without, products. This, people, is how much I love the stuff. Seriously.

It's available- along with the rest of the range, natch- from Boots and Harvey Nichols, and is priced at a very reasonable £4.89 for 100ml. So, really, you have no reason at all not to treat yourself! And let's face it, who couldn't do with a little pick-me-up right now?

Maybelline The Colossal Volum’ Express Mascara

6a00d8341c873353ef010536e53ce6970b 800wi Maybelline The Colossal Volum Express Mascara

By now, the fact that I, er, quite like mascara (to put it mildly) will come as no surprise at all to those of you who’ve been reading for a while. What I don’t tend to like is Maybelline mascaras, which, given that The Colossal is currently available at Boots for just 4.84 is the only reason I haven’t rushed out and bought this yet. After all, this promises to give lashes “up to 7 x more gorgeous volume”, and that’s the kind of thing that normally has me whipping out my credit card faster than you can say. “But you already HAVE an entire drawer full of mascaras, what’s WRONG with you, woman!

I’m obviously going to succumb to the lure of this sooner or later, but if you’d like to succumb sooner, please drop me a comment and let me know what you think of it!

Valentine’s Beauty Gifts for Girls: Bomb Cosmetics Chocolate Therapy Massage Bar

Massage bar Valentines Beauty Gifts for Girls: Bomb Cosmetics Chocolate Therapy Massage Bar

I know it feels like Christmas only just ended (well, it does to me, anyway), but Valentine's Day is coming up fast, and you know what that means: every conceivable product you can buy is going to suddenly be pink and heart-shaped.

On the plus side, it means we can hopefully look forward to some pretty, sweet smelling beauty gifts, and maybe it's just the fact that every muscle in my body currently aches (word to the wise: going back to the gym after a long break HURTS), but I'm liking the look of this massage bar by Bomb Cosmetics. It's pink. It's heart-shaped. It's made of cocoa butter. It's only £3.50. What's not to like?

Boots hot pink travel hairdryer

Pink hairdryer Boots hot pink travel hairdryer

This hairdryer (or at least the black version, which was all tt was available when I bought it) saved my sanity this week.

You know when you're right in the middle of drying your hair and your blowdryer suddenly decides to break? And then you're left standing there with wet hair and no way to dry it, and it's January and freezing, so air-drying isn't really an option, and you totally want to cry?

Yeah. That. That happened to me on Monday, and if it wasn't for my trusty travel dryer, my hair would probably STILL be wet now. (I have long hair. It's cold here.) This dryer, though, was very cheap, and although I bought it for, well, travel, I thoroughly recommend picking one up if you get the chance, if only to make sure that you always have a back-up on hand at all times. I speak as the veteran of a LOT of "broken hairdryer" incidents here, and trust me, that wet-haired drive to work is never pleasant.

Unlike many travel hairdryers, this one is actually pretty good at drying hair too. I've had some which have produced such a feeble blast of air they're almost useless to me, but this has two heat and speed settings, and dries my hair almost as quickly as my regular (now dearly departed) model. Oh, and it's bright pink and currently reduced to £7.49. I'm almost tempted to buy another one.

Dr Brandt ‘Lines No More’ skin smoother

Lines no more Dr Brandt Lines No More skin smoother

Lines no more? Damn, sucked in by a product name YET AGAIN.

Whether Dr. Brand's 'Lines No More' will actually get rid of those nasty ol' lines and folds remains to be see, of course, but let's just say I'm curious enough – or perhaps just desperate enough – to want to give it a try.

This is a "skin smoother" which you apply directly to your wrinkles and lines: the product has an "filling in" effect which should give you the appearance of smoother skin, but it's not simply a case of papering over the cracks, because it also claims to stimulate collagen production which should give you longer-lasting results, too. Assuming that it works, that is.

If you want to try it and see, it's $55 at Sephora.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in ‘Sin’

Urban decay eyeshadow prime Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Sin

Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion is well-known for the staying-power it lends your eyeshadow and almost everyone I know who's ever tried it has become an instant convert. It makes sense, then, that the brand would maximise its earning potential by bringing out another version, and that's exactly what they've done with 'Sin'.

This has all of the good stuff we've come to love about the famous primer, with the difference being the colour: it's what Sephora describes as a "shimmering champagne", and it's supposed to work with any eyeshadow to give it a little bit of a shimmer, and you can also wear it on its own for a natural-but-gorgeous look.

'Sin' is currently available only at Sephora, where it's $18.

Scar-Jo Teams up with D&G to promote their new cosmetic line. Jealous, us?

Scarlett johansson dolce Scar Jo Teams up with D&G to promote their new cosmetic line. Jealous, us?

The sultry Ms. Johansson may not be everyone's cup of tea, but there's no denying the girl's glamourous.

Obviously Messrs Dolce and Gabbana thought so too, as they've snapped her up (quite literally- take a look at the stunning  promotional picture above) as the face-and body- of their brand new cosmetics line, which is due to launch this Spring.

Stefano Gabbana, one half of the famed Italian designer duo, had this to say on their reasons for picking Scarlett:

"Scarlett is sure of herself. She’s a beautiful girl, but she’s really easy going. She is very Dolce & Gabbana.”

OK, so I'm not entirely sure what boxes you have to tick to be considered "very Dolce and Gabbana", but, hey, if it means you get to be dolled up a la Marilyn Monroe then give me that marker pen!

Barry M nail paint in cobalt blue

Barry m nail paint Barry M nail paint in cobalt blue

First up, you have to excuse the extremely bad paint job in the image above. Here's the thing: it was late. I was drinking wine. I was watching Gossip Girl. Out of the corner of my eye, I spied this bottle of Barry M nail paint sitting on my desk. "Why, now would be the perfect time to try this out!" I thought, before slapping it on with gay abandon, completely ignoring the fact that I was painting my SKIN as well as my nails. D'oh.

Now, I don't normally go for coloured polish on my fingers, mostly because I can guarantee that if I choose to wear some bright colour on my nails, I will immediately want to wear an outfit in an equally bright, but totally clashing colour.

This one tempted me, though, not just because the so-called "Goth" look is very much in fashion at the moment, and dark blue seems like a much easier option than black, but because it's such a pretty colour in itself, with a hint of glitter running though it.

The colour is called "Cobalt Blue", but it looks more like navy to me. I like it because it's dark and dramatic looking, but the aforementioned hint of sparkle helps to soften it up a little and make it that little bit easier to wear.

I had to remove this not long after I put it on, because it would've clashed horribly with my outfit the next day, so I can't comment on how long it lasts, but for £2.95 you can probably afford to find out for yourself.
