There is nothing like a Dame: MAC's latest and not-so-greatest collection does its bit for the panto season.

Before I get into the post proper, a bit of scene setting, if you will:
As you might have guessed, I'm a little enamoured with makeup. Oh, alright, make that obsessed!
And one of my biggest obsessions? MAC. Yes, I simply can not get enough of the oh-so-chic and colourful pots and palettes that the wonderful people at Makeup. Art. Cosmetics (to give it its rather threatical-sounding official title) like to provide us with in the name of beautification.
So, you see, MAC can do little wrong in my eyes.
Or so I thought until I opened up a mailshot inviting me to gaze in lust over their newest collection:
Please do not adjust your monitor. You did read that correctly. Dame Edna. As in Barry Humphries' very loud, very purple, very, er, female alter ego.
Now, the collection itself isn't all that bad- mauve and variations thereof seems to be the dominant colour theme, as you'd expect and there's a decent amount of products- it's the principle of the matter.
How, I asked myself, could MAC go from sultry siren Dita Von Teese to this? What next? MAC presents Lily Savage?
And, don't even get me started on the packaging. No, really, don't.
I can safely say that I shall be going cold turkey (Possum?) on this latest offering. But, if you're a braver woman (or man) than I, you can take a look at the collection in its entirety over on the MAC website.
Don't say I didn't warn you.
