NOTD: GOSH nail polish in 554 – Gold
I’ve called this post “Nail of the Day”, but “Nail of the Month” would probably be more accurate, because over the past few weeks, anytime I haven’t been wearing the GOSH Frou Frou polish I showed you back in December, I’ve mostly been wearing this sparkly gold one from the same brand. Between the two of them, these polishes have transformed me from someone who only occasionally wore polish on her fingernails into someone who wears it all the damn time – these are just so easy to wear, they last forever, and, rather than emphasising my ragged cuticles and generally horrible fingernails, as brighter colours do, these seem to disguise them just a little: joy!
In fact, the only real problem I have with this polish is that it’s pretty hard to get off. When I do decide to change it, I have to spend quite a bit of time scrubbing at my nails with cotton wool and nail polish remover, because it really doesn’t like coming off. All the more reason just to keep on wearing it, I guess…

Urban Decay De-Slick in a Tube
Given the complete oil slick that my t-zone can be sometimes, I’m really surprised I’ve only just heard about this product, which, as the name suggests, is designed to de-slick that oil.
This is a lightweight gel formula which can be worn either on its on, under foundation, or over the top of your foundation, making it the perfect product to pop in your handbag, or in your desk drawer at work, for any oil-slick emergencies you may encounter throughout the day.
It’s £16, but Urban Decay claim it will keep your face shine-free even in hot, muggy weather, and under hot studio lights, so if it can do that, I’m pretty sure it can handle anything the Scottish climate has to throw at it. Click here to buy it and find out for yourself.
‘Wash Your Face’ Wash Bag by Kiki’s
Happy new year, everyone!
I’m starting 2011 with an item that’s going straight onto my Wish List: this ‘Wash Your Face’ washbag, by Kiki’s. I’ve spoken about my love of products designed to look like mail (well, everyone likes mail, no?) many a time here, but this is a particularly nice example, and each one is a slightly different shade, and with subtly different markings, so no two are ever the same.
Although it looks like an old paper parcel, this is actually made of hard-wearing faux leather, and has a waterproof lining. If only I’d discovered it before my holiday last year!
