Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you all had a good Christmas, whatever you were doing: I definitely did, although I’m starting the new year a little bit fatter than usual as a result of it!

I’m also starting the year full of good resolutions, although we’ll see how long those will last. We spent the two weeks before Christmas on holiday in the Canary Islands, and returned home to lots of snow and temperatures which reached -10 at times, so my skin and hair have been exposed to everything from blazing sunshine to freezing cold over the past few weeks, and are in need of some TLC. I’m not going to write a long list of beauty resolutions, because they’d be much the same as everyone else’s at this time of year, but lots of water, more sleep and regular exercise will all play their part.

As for the holiday, I had a wonderful time, made even more wonderful by this little discovery:

Yes, a Sephora in Gran Canaria! Sadly it was just a counter in a department store, selling Sephora’s own brand products, and I didn’t actually buy anything, but it was lovely to catch sight of the familiar black and white logo! I actually only made two small beauty-related purchases while I was gone, which will be reviewed soon. For now, thanks for your patience while I’ve been gone (and particular thanks to those of you who chose NOT to send me rude messages regarding the lack of posts here!). I’ll have more posts for you soon: in the meantime, I hope everyone is having a great start to 2010!

All of my other blogs have their own Twitter accounts, but it occurred to me that poor Dollface was sadly neglected in this respect, so I had to put that right.

Just a quick note to say sorry for the lack of posts recently. I've only had sporadic internet access since Friday (Thanks, Virgin Media!) so I just haven't been able to get online. We have an engineer booked for tomorrow afternoon who we're hoping will be able to get things up and running properly again – until then, please bear with me and I'll have more beauty news for you soon. Lush's Yummy Yummy Yummy shower wash, which was a free gift when I ordered the Mother's Day Set for Mum Dollface. I don't really smell strawberries and almonds, which is supposed to be the scent of this, but it's very fresh and zingy, and helps wake me up in the morning.

WEARING…

Bourjois Volume Clubbing Mascara. I wasn't impressed with this when I first tried it back in August, but my regular mascara is starting to run low, so I've been using up this instead on days I know I'm not going to be doing much. It's still not the best mascara I've ever used, but I'm liking it better now I'm a little more used to it, and it does make my lashes look thicker, which is always a good thing.

WANTING….

 Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in Black Satin. Don't ask me why, because I normally keep my fingernails natural, with just a slick of clear polish, but some reason this week I've been all about black polish…
