Well hell, that would be a small miracle if it did all that! And it would justify the $40 price all by itself, too! As far as the price goes, however, this is $69 of products for the aforementioned $40, and I know I’d at least use the eye and brow products, so I think it’s a good deal. If you do too, you can pick it up at www.sephora.com Anastasia Brow Definer – gel and pencil in one product
This product is one of those things that doesn’t offer anything truly revolutionary, but which is still handy to have. On one end there’s a brow pencil and on the other a clear brow gel, so you can fill them in and hold them in place without having to rummage around for two separate products. Simple, but hey, I’d buy it. I love brow products. Anastasia Brow Definer, $22 at Nordstrom Mascara Wars: Dollface Reviews Anastasia Lash Lifting Mascara
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Sorry, that’s just the choir of angels in my head rejoicing at the news that there is actually a mascara in the world that does exactly what it says on the tin. That mascara is Anastasia’s Lash Lifting Mascara, and, of all the mascaras I’ve tested over the past few weeks, it’s definitely the one I’ve liked the best. As the name infers, this is designed to lift the lashes (and also to create volume, although you wouldn’t necessarily guess that from the name alone). Now, given the multiple mascara disappointments I’ve gone through recently, I have to admit that I wasn’t really expecting much from this one either, so I didn’t even bother to curl my lashes before I applied it, feeling sure it would drag the curl out anyway. JUST LIKE ALL THE OTHERS. Gah. But! A few swipes of the wand later, and my lashes were already starting to curl up at the ends. A few more (OK, quite a lot more: it took several applications to get the desired result, but who’s counting?) and I was impressed. OK, it’s not in the same league as my beloved Lancome, but it did thicken and curl, and that’s exactly what it’s supposed to do, and that’s good enough for me. I’ll be interested to see how it copes with pre-curled lashes, too, and will probably put it to the test on that tomorrow. Overall, pretty damn good, especially for a non-waterproof formula, and there’s been no flaking or smudging, either, Anastasia Lash Lifting Mascara, $22 from www.sephora.com Anastasia Brow Pen – Long Wearing Brow Tint
I'm currently addicted to Anastasia's brow products, which I think are some of the best around, but this is one I haven't got round to trying yet. It's a brow pen, which caught my attention because, while I've used lots of brow pencils and powders, I haven't come across one in a pen, yet, and I'm curious to see how different it would be to my usual products. Going by the description, there's nothing different about the application, anyway: this can be used either as a base for your regular brow makeup, or on it's own to fill in sparse areas. It's supposed to last all day, without smudging, and dries quickly. Worth $21, I wonder? If you think so, you can buy it from www.sephora.com Anastasia’s Limited Edition Swarovski Pink Ribbon Precision Tweezers I have a pair of pink slant tweezers by Anastasia, which came with my Brow Kit, and I must admit, I’ve been pretty impressed with them – in fact, I like them as much as my beloved Tweezerman tweezers, and that’s saying something! These Limited Edition Swarovski Crystal versions are more expensive than most at $33, but 50% of that goes to The Entertainment Industry Foundation Women’s Cancer Research Fund - a very worthwhile cause, and one I think I’d be more than willing to spend a little extra on. Plus, the tweezers look cute with their crystal Breast Cancer Care emblem, and will work perfectly too, making them a rather nice deal, I think. A badly-groomed brow, on the other hand? Let’s not even go there… With this in mind, I’d like to introduce you to my new best friend. It’s Anastasia Beverly Hills’ All About Brows Kit, which is $75 at Sephora, although you can buy the various components separately. This will be going everywhere with me from now on, and not just because it comes in a pretty pink carrying case (Yes, I know the one in this picture is purple, but mine is pink), but because this, quite simply, contains everything you’ll ever need to create those perfectly groomed brows. Anastasia’s After Tweeze Cream – helps you tweeze more easily
I, you see, was born with a unibrow, a bit like Liam Gallaghers. (Well, I wasn’t born with it, exactly. The unibrow came later – but not much later, let me tell you). That unibrow of mine has to be tweezed every single day in order for me to look even barely human, and all of that tweezing has a tendency to leave its mark. Its bright red mark. No more, though! This cream contains vitamins A, C and E, plus soothing camomile extract, which will calm the redness of "just tweezed" brows (or any other facial redness, according to the website), and it’ll do it for $20.
