Bourjois Rose Exclusif Lipgloss That Adjusts To The pH Of Your Lips

bourjois rose exclusif lipgloss Bourjois Rose Exclusif Lipgloss That Adjusts To The pH Of Your Lips

Yes, it’s another “goes on clear, turns into the perfect shade for you upon contact with the skin” product, folks! This one is from Bourjois, and it’s their Rose Exclusif lipgloss: a clear gloss which reacts with the pH of your lips to turn into the perfect shade of pink.

Now, I must admit to a strange fascination with these products, perhaps because they remind me of my school days, when people always seemed to be bringing in “mood rings” and other items that claimed to change colour according to your personality. I’ve never quite trusted them, though, which is why, although I’ve tried out Smashbox’s ‘O’ range at the counter, I’ve never actually purchased anything that claims to change colour on impact.

Could this be the product to change my mind? I think I’d probably want to test it first, to see just what shade of pink it turned into on me, but if you can’t wait then you can click here to buy it from ASOS.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation, with fruit therapy

bourjois healthy mix founda Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation, with fruit therapy

We’re used to seeing fruit extracts used in skin and hair products, so why not use them in a foundation, too? That seems to be the thinking between Bourjois’ Healthy Mix Foundation, which uses fruit to deliver a “radiance boosting” formula, and eight hours’ worth of hydration into the bargain.

The fruit’s not just in there for novelty value, though. Bourjois say they’ve used apricot for radiance, melon for hydration, apple as an antioxidant and ginger for energy. Sounds more like a smoothie than a foundation to me, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, and apparently this has a bit of a fruity fragrance too, which would appeal to me, although perhaps not to everyone.

This comes in eight different shades, and retails for £10 at ASOS.com and anywhere with a Bourjois stand. There’s also a concealer to go with it, to make your face that little bit more fruity!

NOTD: Bourjois 1 Seconde Nail Polish in shade 7

bourjois 1 seconde nail pol NOTD: Bourjois 1 Seconde Nail Polish in shade 7

I know I said I’d probably buy another Barry M Nail Paint as my next nail polish, but I was in Superdrug earlier this week, and found myself headed to the till with this in my hand instead. I just can’t seem to give up red polish just yet, and I liked this one because it has a nice, cherry shade to it (it’s actually a little more pink than it looks in this photo) than most of the brighter reds I’ve been wearing recently.

I’d also been meaning to try Bourjois’ 1 Seconde polish for a while. As the name suggests, this claims to allow to you to paint each nail in just one second, and it has a wide, fan-shaped brush to help you do it. It didn’t quite take one second for me, but that’s probably because I fail at life nail polish application, and need to take more time than most. I also tend to go for narrower brushes, because they make it easier for me to stay within the “lines”, so to speak, and avoid painting skin as well as nail, but I was pleasantly surprised by how easy this was to use, and I’d imagine that if you’re a nail-polish pro, you’d probably find it even easier.

As for the polish itself, I’m wearing just one coat in the picture above, and was happy with that: it goes on fairly thick, but isn’t too gloopy, and there was no streaking or dragging. It had, however, started to chip around the edges of the nails by the end of the day, so I’d probably want to use a top coat with it next time to make it last a bit longer, but if you’re looking for something quick and easy, with a nice, deep colour, I’d definitely recommend it.

This is £5,49 from the likes of Boots and Superdrug.

Bourjois Rouge High-Tech Liptint

Bourjois Rouge High-Tech Liptint

As someone with naturally pale lips, lip tints always appeal to me: they can look and feel more natural than lipstick or gloss, and if you’re lucky enough to find one that’s long-lasting, they can stay put for much longer, too. It’s finding that perfect tint that’s the problem, obviously, but I’ve been reading some very good things about Bourjois Rouge High-Tech Liptint, and think it could be worth trying out.

This is water-based, and is designed to feel just like bare lips: in other words, you shouldn’t even know you’re wearing it. It should give you a natural-looking “bitten lips” look, and if the reviews I’ve read are to be believed, it should last for several hours at a time, too.

I’ll need to see this in person to decide which colour to go for, but if you want to buy online, it’s available at ASOS.com. where it’s £7.10.
