Chanel’s Rouge Allure Laque lipstick/gloss
For some reason, as the weather gets cooler, I’ve been craving super-shiny red lips. This is something of a departure for me, because I normally go for matte lip colours, but if it’s high shine I’m after, who better to turn to than Chanel? Their Rouge Allure Laque claims to give a “patent-like” finish, and also apparently wears more like a lipstick than a gloss, which is good news to me too.
It comes in 8 different shades – I’m liking the look of the bright red ‘Coromandel’ but the pinkish ‘Ming’ could be a good choice if you prefer a more natural shade. Anyone tried this?

Some beauty products are almost too pretty for their own good. I mean, take this Chanel compact, for instance. The perfectionist in me says it would be a shame to mess that up by, you know, actually using it. But then the beauty junkie in me says, “the hell with that, it’s a product, it’s fair game.” And of course, the beauty junkie wins. Every time.
This is a highlighting powder for the face and decollette (“No!” I hear you gasp.) and if you look closely you’ll see that there are actually three different shades in there, which will allow you to get varying degrees of colour where you need it. A good idea, given that our faces and our decolletes aren’t always the exact same colour.
This product promises to give you… actually, can you guess? Yes! It’s RADIANCE! Is there a product around at the moment that DOESN’T claim to create “radiance”? If there is, I’d like to see it. Actually, scratch that, no I wouldn’t: I’m all about the radiance, me. If you’re all about the radiance too, this is available from Neiman Marcus, where it’s $65.
