Girls Aloud false lashes gift set from Eylure

girls aloud false eyelashes Girls Aloud false lashes gift set from EylureI’ve started to get press releases about Christmas gifts. I’d tell you how much this depresses me, but I think the swearing might put some of you off. Suffice to say, I hate winter and I’m just not ready to start thinking about Christmas yet.  Or I wasn’t until I found out about this Eylure gift set, which has gone straight onto my Christmas list.

This is £25, and contains a full set of the Girls Aloud false eyelashes which Eylure brought out earlier this year. I’ve tried all of these now, and I absolutely love them: I think the only problem most people will have with them is deciding which ones to go for and this gets around that “problem” very nicely, no?

The set comes with a black patent purse and presentation box. Normally boxed beauty sets don’t quite hit the mark for me, because they tend to contain miniature versions of the product, or items I know I won’t use, but this one is a set I think would go down really well for a beauty addict. It’s not available just yet (boo!) but look out for it within the next week or so at Boots – it’s exclusive to them.

Dollface Reviews: Girls Aloud/Eyelure false eyelashes by Sarah Harding

I can’t quite believe I did this, but here’s the thing: I forgot I still had two sets of the Girls Aloud/Eyelure false eyelashes to review. Until last night, when I went hunting for some bubble bath, and was all, “Oh, hai, false eyelashes! I fail at beauty blogging!”

Other ways in which I fail at beauty blogging: I was all set to review Too Faced Lash Injection mascara today, had it on and everything and then… I remembered that I already reviewed it. Quite some time ago, actually. So I slapped these on instead, and it’s a testament to these lashes that they’re really easy to put on, even when you weren’t expecting to wear them, and are applying them in a bit of a hurry.

Now, I fully expect that those of you who were interested in these when they came out will have bought them already, but these are the Sarah Harding versions. I like them: they’re full, dramatic, and, as it says on the pack, they do elongate the eye. What it also says on the pack is that you can wear them on “any occasion”, and I’d take issue with that, because I don’t think this is a “work” look, for instance – unless, of course, your job description includes the phrase “being a drag queen”. Yes, as much as I like them, they’re pretty obviously false eyelashes, so I’d personally reserve them for special occasions only. But that’s just me.

For comparison:

The Cheryl Cole false eyelashes

The Nadine Coyle false eyelashes

The Nicola Roberts false eyelashes

I have the Kimberley Walsh ones too, and will try to review them soon. In the meantime, these are £5 per pair, and you can buy them from Debenhams, amongst other places.

Dollface Reviews: Girls Aloud/Eyelure false eyelashes by Nicola Roberts

It’s been a while (read “a couple of days”) since I last tried out some of my stock of Girls Aloud false eyelashes, so here are some quick pictures of the Nicola Roberts lashes.

These are probably the most “fluttery” of the five designs: they’re shorter at the front and long at the edges, and have an elongating effect on the eye. Personally, I’m still preferring the Cheryl Cole versions, because I liked the spikiness of them, but these ones would also be great for a night out.

More info on stockists etc on this post.

Dollface Reviews: Eyelure Girls Aloud false eyelashes by Nadine Coyle

Following on from my earlier post about the Girls Aloud/Eyelure false eyelashes launch, here are the lashes designed by Nadine Coyle.

As you can see, these are a little more natural than the Cheryl Cole versions, although they’re still super-long compared to “normal” eyelashes! I’d be much more likely to wear these during the day, or to something I wanted to look a little bit more glam for, without looking too over-the-top. You’ll find a couple more pictures under the jump, and purchase information at the bottom of this post.

If you follow me on Twitter, you may already be aware of my excitement this weekend at the arrival of a huge package containing five set of the Girls Aloud/Eyelure flase eyelashes, which I wrote about back in February.

There are five different styles to choose from here (one designed by each member of the band) and I have all five of them, so I’ll be reviewing them all over the next couple of weeks, but naturally I decided to start off with the most dramatic lashes of all: the “Cheryl Cole” creations, which you can see me wearing in the images below:

Eyelure to launch Girls Aloud false eyelashes

Spl6922 010[2] Eyelure to launch Girls Aloud false eyelashes

As a not-so-secret Girls Aloud fan (look, it's good workout music, OK?), this has to be my favourite piece of beauty-related news today…

Eyelure, makers of everything from eyelash dye to false lashes, have joined forces with Girls Aloud to create a new line of 'Girls Aloud' branded false eyelashes. Five different pairs will be created, one for each girl, and each reflecting the particular style of the person who "inspired" it.

These will be available from mid-April, and I'll have pictures of the lashes themselves when they become available. I already want a "Cheryl" pair..
