It’s a little bit worrying that it’s only January 5th and I already have an “Absolutely-Must-Buy-ASAP” product to add to my Wish List, but when I tell you that the product in question contains the words “NARS Orgasm” and “illuminator”, you’ll probably understand why!
I’ve already talked a lot (ahem!) about my love from NARS Orgasm blusher: I have both the powder version and The Multiple, and I love the colour so much that it’s pretty much the only cheek colour I wear these days. (Note to self: be more experimental in 2010!). This new release from the brand takes that “suits everyone” pinky-peach, and uses it as an illuminator. Now, illuminators are one of my favourite products, so naturally this is a killer combination for me. It’s not cheap at $29, but I have a feeling it might just be worth it.
Like most products of this type, it can be used alone, mixed in with foundation, or to highlight the cheekbones (or anywhere else), and NARS say it will transform lacklustre skin. Sounds great to me: has anyone tried it? If you haven’t, but you want to, you can pick up a tube at www.sephora.com .

Some mascaras try to be all things to all people, claiming to provide length, volume, curl and the secret or eternal youth, all in one small tube. Well, OK, maybe not that last one, but you get the picture. As I know only too well, though, most of the time these multi-taskers just don’t work, so it’s actually quite refreshing to see NARS decide to concentrate on one of thing at a time, releasing two new mascaras at the same time, one lengthening, one volumising. (I guess they could just be hoping we’ll buy both, though. Wow, it’s almost like they KNOW me!)
As you can see from the image, the lengthening mascara has a long, pointy wand and the volumising one has a shorter, fatter one. They’re both called Larger Than Life, and the Lengthening version contains tiny fibres which cling to your lashes, helping them look longer, while the Volumising formula relies on the “honeycomb” brush to make sure each lash is coated.
They’re £25 each from www.sephora.com .

Wow, a $40 cleanser – sorry, “Makeup Cleansing Oil”. Suddenly my cheap-as-it-gets collection of cleansers seem a bit inadequate! Still, I have to admit that cleanser is one of those items I tend to save money on where I can: I am, after all, the girl who used olive oil as a cleanser for a good couple of years (in fact, the only reason I’m not STILL using olive oil as a cleanser is because I was sent a few “proper” cleansers to review, and I’m still working my way through them), and I’ve always been of the opinion that if it cleans my skin and doesn’t irritate it, or leave it dry/greasy, then it’s good enough for me.
NARS, however, claim to have made “an advanced achievement in removing makeup and impurities” with their Makeup Cleansing Oil, which they say will deep-clean the pores, and leave the skin soft, supple and n0n-greasy. Obviously that’s what a LOT of skincare companies say about their products, but, a little more uniquely, NARS say theirs can be applied with either wet or dry hands, so you don’t need access to water to be able to quickly remove your makeup.
Sounds interesting, but is it $40 worth of “interesting”? Well, that’s up to you to decide…

No, this isn't a mind-bending game of Spot the Difference, these two foundations really do look exactly the same. They're not, though: one is called Sheer Glow and the other is called Sheer Matt. I'm just going to assume you DON'T need me to explain what makes them different from each other, OK?
Both are new releases from NARS, and both contain the the NARS Exclusive Complexion Brightening Formula, which leaves your skin looking luminous, soft, and flawless, with easily -build-able coverage. The only difference (oh, OK, I'll tell you) is that one will create a matt finish, while the other will leave you with a soft "glow".
They're both $42 at Nordstrom. Which one would you get?

As a NARS Orgasm devotee, I've been meaning to pick up The Multiple for a while now, and last month I finally got round to doing it.
This is basically the famous 'Orgasm' in a stick: it's a creamy formula that can be used anywhere you want – cheeks, lips, eyes, you name it. I have to confess, the only place I'd actually be likely to use it is on my cheeks. The colour just doesn't work on my lips, and as for the eyes, I think I'll pass. Cheeks are what I bought it for, though, so I'm not disappointed: for me, this is basically just a more portable version of the powder blusher, and I wanted to be able to pop it into my handbag for touch-ups. (I'm pale anyway, but when I get tired I get even paler, and can look absolutely shocking, so I try to have a blusher handy at all times. This format is much easier than carrying a powder and brush, and it's my favourite colour.)
As for the product itself, I know it gets rather more mixed reviews than the powder blusher, and the formula is slightly drier than I'd expected it to be, but I still like it. The colour is exactly the same as my powder version, and has a slight shimmer to it too which gives a nice, healthy looking glow. I'm happy.
I'd be even happier, though, if I'd remembered to look for the Super Orgasm version while I was in Sephora. D'oh!

Yes, folks, just in case you hadn't noticed, we've now reached that part of the year in which cosmetic manufacturers are able to make a complete killing, purely by putting the word "love" in their product names, or making those products either:
a) pink
or b) heart-shaped
This is one Valentines-themed beauty gift that I for one would be really happy to receive though. It's by Dollface favourite NARS, and their "Love Set" includes their bestselling blusher in 'Orgasm', azalea-pink Pillow Talk Lip Gloss, and a Sex Machine Velvet Matte Lip Pencil. I "love" it already.

We’re showing some serious love to the always fabulous NARS here at Dollface right now.
Further to Amber’s news that their cult Orgasm blush has been souped up, I bring tidings of their Spring 2009 collection.
And? It’s an absolute beauty (pun entirely intended Dollfaces!).
Gorgeous, mouth-watering duo eyeshadows; single eyeshadows in bold, bright statement colours; and fabulous, fruity lip colours, NARS have surpassed themselves with this season’s exotic inspired bounty, and I for one can’t wait to get my hands on it.

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of NARS Orgasm – it’s my Holy Grail blusher, and as far as I’m concerned, it’s worth every penny.
But. Now there’s a new version. A Super Orgasm. And I don’t know about you, but I’d be willing to bet that if there’s one thing better than Nars Orgasm, it might just be Super Orgasm, no?
This is the same peachy-pink shade of the original, but with added golden "sparkles" to give it that little bit of extra "oomph", and to make it "super". I’ve yet to see what it looks like on, but if you want to try it out for yourself, it’s $25 at Sephora.

Fancy a foundation that actually softens your wrinkles as well as concealing them? Yeah, me too, but surely such a product cannot exist?
Well, NARS think it can, and they think their new Firming Foundation is it. Formulated for mature and combination skins (but let’s face it, if it works, we’re all going to try it regardless, aren’t we?) it contains Polypeptide Firming Complex™ (I hate those kind of terms) and antioxidants that will apparently help strengthen the skin and soften the appearance of wrinkles.
All foundation should do that, if you ask me.
How well does it work? To answer that one, you’re going to have to buy it and see – it’s $50 at Nordstrom.

When I reviewed Nars Orgasm a few weeks ago, I forgot to mention that because the Sephora I visited was sold out of the shade in single blush, I ended up getting the Blush/Bronzer duo in Orgasm and Laguna.
This actually worked out pretty well for me because I was on holiday at the time and in need of some bronzer. I haven’t used Laguna much since I got home because I just haven’t had any need of it, but it’s a sheer, light brown bronzing powder with a hint of shimmer.
Because I’m very pale skinned, a very little bit of this goes a long way, which is good, because it’s probably going to last me for years! If you’re darker skinned, or looking for a deeper bronze, you’ll be able to layer it up easily enough.
