
OK, ok, I know what you’re thinking: olive oil is, well, oily, isn’t it? And smelly. And, most importantly: something you put on your food, not on your face.
Well, yes, all of these points are good ones. But olive oil also makes an excellent, cheap, cleanser, and trust me, I should know: I’ve been using it for over a year. Now, before you all start making faces at me, no I don’t smell like salad dressing, my skin doesn’t resemble a small oil slick, and I don’t have spots. (I do keep running out of oil for my salads, mind you, but that’s another problem altogether). Strangely enough, even although olive oil is, itself, oily (well, duh!) it doesn’t make your skin oily – actually, it does the exact opposite. You see, your skin, being the clever organ it is, will only absorb the moisture it needs. The result: soft, clean skin that doesn’t cost you a fortune in the upkeep. Here’s how to do it:
