Tag Archives: synakePlanet Skincare Challenge: can Anti Ageing Daily Moisturiser with Syn-ake reduce my wrinkles? When I worked as a newspaper journalist, I got very used to embarrassing myself in public for the sake of a story. Dressing up in a football strip for a photo which later appeared on the front page is possibly my favourite examples, but there were others. Oh, there were others. It's a far, far scarier thing I do today, though, than I have ever done before in the name of "journalism", for today, readers, I'm going to show you my forehead wrinkles:
Eeek! Also: oh, hai, freckles! Long time no see! (I had a face FULL of freckles when I was a kid. Seriously, I had so many of them I used to hope they'd all join together and I'd have a perma-tan. Because I was stupid, obviously. Now I still have some freckles, but they're barely noticeable unless I've been on holiday, which is when they show up again to haunt me.) So anyway, yes, this a wrinkle on my forehead, although, actually, I'd be happier if we could just call it an "expression line". Could we do that? That's what many wrinkles are, after all, and I've actually had this one as long as I can remember: being shortsighted, I have a bad habit of scrunching up my face a lot, and this is the result. But why am I showing it to you, I hear you ask, other than to give you all the opportunity to taunt me? Well, remember Planet Skincare's Syn-ake moisturiser? The one that contains artificial snake venom, which causes it to act a bit like Botox, effectively freezing your facial muscles (albeit in a way that you wouldn't notice) so those expression lines can't form? They were kind enough to send me a jar to try out:
And I figured I could tell you what I think of it, but it would probably be better to show you: hence the embarrassing wrinkle picture. I'll try and provide an updated picture of that wrinkle every week (the things I do for Dollface!) so we can chart the progress of this and see how well it works. It'll be like watching paint dry, only it'll be skin cream and wrinkles instead. Don't say I don't know how to entertain my guests, now! Now for the science bit: |
