Chocolate bath foam Aquolina Chocolovers Creamy Bath Foam: mmmmm!

Wait… a bath foam that smells like chocolate? That's just cruel, no? Also: tempting, very tempting…

Clearly I could say more about this, but I can't because I'm too busy wiping the drool off my keyboard. Yeah, that was a great visual, wasn't it? Don't say I'm not good to you.

Giorgio Armani ‘Obsidian’ Mineral Regenerating Cream Luxe

Giorgio Armani 'Obsidian' M Giorgio Armani Obsidian Mineral Regenerating Cream Luxe

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel instantly skeptical when they hear of a face cream that costs roughly the same as a mini break?

OK, so I'm exaggerating about the mini-break. Georgio Armani's 'Obsidian' Mineral Regenerating Cream Luxe costs $275 per pot, which isn't the MOST expensive product I've heard of, but would still leave me on a serious budget for the rest of the month, which means that I'd be expecting it to work wonders – and I mean that quite literally.

So, what's special about it?

Well, aside from the rather sexy looking black tub, the cream itself – Crema Nera – is apparently inspired by the Italian island of Pantelleria, and contains a  natural mineral compound found in the petrified lava on the island – the "obsidian" that gives the product its name. All very well, you may be thinking, but what's it going to do for my skin?  This is perhaps best answered by Armani themselves, who say te cream is"scientifically proven to actively restore and revitalize skin's natural radiance and regenerate surface cells."

As for the cost, part of that can be explained by the luxury black lacquer box, which comes with a black obsidian massage stone.

It all looks and sounds very lovely, so if you want to find out for yourself if it works, you can buy it from Nordstrom. Just remember to come back ad tell me what you thought of it!

Dollface Reviews: Maybelline Lash Stiletto mascara (with before and after pictures)

Maybelline lash stiletto ma Dollface Reviews: Maybelline Lash Stiletto mascara (with before and after pictures)

Maybelline's new Lash Stiletto mascara aims to do for your lashes what stilettos do for your legs - so it'll make them longer, prettier and all round sexier, basically. Or that's the claim. I tried it out this morning, and you can see the Before and After shots above, so you can be the judge of that one!

I love the packaging of this: it's long and lean, and looks just like a stiletto heel, right down to the little tip on the end. The marriage of shoes and mascara - it's like a Dollface dream come true!

As for the brush, it also gets the thumbs up, as it, too, is long and lean. This is by far my preferred shape of mascara wand: these days most of the mascaras I try seem to go for a super-thick, bristly wand, which doesn't work for me at all, and generally just leaves the mascara smudged all over my eyelids and beyond. Lash Stiletto's wand is slim, though, which makes it very easy to use, and also allows you to get right into the corners of the eye, and coat every lash, including the lower lashes.

Tops marks for appearance, ease of use and staying power, then: it's stayed put all day, with no trace of smudging, and none of those tell-tale deposits under the eye. On the down side, though, I'm not really seeing much in the way of lengthening, and, being a non-waterproof formula, it dragged the curl out of my lashes, too.

I'd be interested to see this in a waterproof version, but if you'd like to try it as it is, you'll find more information at the Maybelline website

Dollface Reviews: Creme Team Cremesheen Glass

Creme Dollface Reviews: Creme Team Cremesheen Glass

It was my birthday recently, and one very lovely lady gave me a giftcard for a well known department store. Said well known department store has a MAC concession in my local branch.

Can you guess where this story is going….?

I was so very tempted by all the goodies on offer (actually, who am I kidding, when am I not tempted?), but it was the new Cremesheen Glass from the Creme Team collection that won me and my giftcard over.

I picked it up in the delightfully sounding 'Melt in your Mouth' shade; a juicy, pretty-as-a-picture delicate  rose pink. I was sold.

It was one of those 'I -simply- must- have- this- or- my -life- as- I -know -it-will -not- be -worth -living' moments. So, naturally, not wanting to tempt fate, I gave in.

Unlike the iconic MAC Lipglasses, the Cremesheen glass is not sticky or tacky in the slightest; the clue is in the name people, it glides onto your lips like a dream and feels decadently creamy. Staying power is impressive and it doesn't dry out five minutes after application.

It was a definitely a case of my lips but better. Much better.

At £12.72 it's not going to be the budget choice, but if you're looking for a great mid range lipgloss that gives gloss without gloop then this little beauty is definitely worth investigating!

Lancome Oscillation: Not Just Good, but Great Vibrations from Lancome’s Newest Magic Wand.

Oscillation Lancome Oscillation: Not Just Good, but Great Vibrations from Lancomes Newest Magic Wand.

Apologies for my absence recently dollfaces, things have been a little hectic chez moi of late. But, I'm back. And? I bring tidings of my new mascara purchase.

Yes, I know, another mascara post. But this is in a class of its own.I'm talking about Lancome Oscillation.

I'd heard all the hype surrounding it of course, I mean, it's a motorised mascara, how was there not going to be hype; time was when we thought rubber brushes were something special. Oh, wait, that was only a couple of years ago…Anyway, I was out at the weekend and stopped by the Lancome counter. Along with their new lipgloss and a gorgeous blusher, one of the things I walked away with was Osciallation.

What can I say, I'm easily pursuaded.Am I ever glad I did! It's incredible. In fact I can not think of enough superlatives to do this mascara justice, it's good people. The vibrating brush takes a little getting used too (all of a few seconds!), but once you've mastered the technique (simple really: push into lashes and let the oscillations work their magic) you'll wonder what took the cosmetic bods so long to come up with this.No more wiggling your brush through your lashes ladies, this does all the hard (!) work for you.

I didn't really have any expectations of this mascara, I bought it more for the novelty factor, so I was more than pleasantly surprised to discover the effect it had on my lashes after just one solitary coat.My lashes were long. And? Huge. Make that enormous. The colour is an intense rich black makes lashes look full and thick.

Ok, so at £28 it's certainly not cheap, but if I could only use one mascara ever again (perish the thought!), this would undoubtedly be it.

In the Library – a fragrance for bookworms

In the library In the Library a fragrance for bookworms

I love the smell of libraries. I'm not totally sure why I do – after all, libraries tend to smell old and kinda musty – but I do know I'm not totally alone in this love. Take the founders of "In the Library", for instance: they love nothing more than the smell of a well-loved book, and that's exactly what this fragrance is inspired by. It apparently replicates the scent of "Russian & Moroccan leather bindings, worn cloth and a hint of wood polish", and I have to admit to being fascinated by it, although not totally convinced I'd want to wear it: I love the smell of the library, but do I want to smell like a library myself? The jury's still out. If you think this is for you, though, you can order it here.

Always In Style: Best Beauty Buys 2009 Hits The Shelves

Instyle Always In Style: Best Beauty Buys 2009 Hits The Shelves

Not quite so hot-on-the-heels of Elle UK.com's 50 Beauty Heroes, comes the list of all lists: In Styles Best Beauty Buys 2009.

It's out now (along with In Style magazine, natch), and if you simply can't wait to get your hands on a copy (or are currently snowbound and unable to get to a newsagent!) an abridged 10 product version can be found on their website.

Ok, so it's all very familiar; the same old 'faces', but this far and away remains the best run down of them all.

And, even though you can pretty much guarantee the big names that show up time and time again, it's like Christmas: it happens once a year, but you still get excited.

Or is that just me?

Handmade Beauty: Hand grenade soap

Hand grenade soap Handmade Beauty: Hand grenade soap

Just to prove that not all beauty products have to be cute and girlie and look like flowers or cakes, this hand grenade soap from Etsy seller "stinkybomb" kicks all kinds of ass. It's cast from an actual WW2 grenade, and as well as looking good, its ingredients include aloe and olive oil, so it should be nicely moisturising too. And who doesn't want a soap that looks like a deadly weapon, I ask you?

MAC + Hello Kitty – What More Could a Girl Need?

HELLO KITTY MAC + Hello Kitty What More Could a Girl Need?

As you might have guessed by now, this Dollface is rather fond of MAC. And that's fond with a capital F people.

And the Hello Kitty collection- due to launch over here in March- has been on my radar for some time now. Echoing the mega-hype surrounding the Barbie Loves MAC collection from Spring 2007, the Hello Kitty range looks set to eclipse even that.

No mean feat considering just how insanely popular the Barbie collaboration proved to be!

Love her or hate her, the iconic cat (who, incidentally fact fans, is apparently a girl ,according to her creators, Sanrio. Okay…) has mega selling power. This is one Kitty that just won't quit- she can be found gracing everything from laptops, mobile phones and wedding dresses (!) to maternity wards and, er, bowls of noodles

So, little wonder then, that MAC wanted a piece of the action.

The collection- actually two: The Hello Kitty Colour Collection, and Hello Kitty Kouture- comprises an exhaustive inventory of lipsticks; lip glasses; lip conditioners; eyeshadow palettes; glitter eyeliners; beauty powders; nail varnishes and false lashes. All adorned with famous feline's face, naturally.

Dominant colours? Pink, coral, violet, turquoise, and, yep, you guessed it: more pink.

Roll on March is all I can say…

Scar-Jo Teams up with D&G to promote their new cosmetic line. Jealous, us?

Scarlett johansson dolce Scar Jo Teams up with D&G to promote their new cosmetic line. Jealous, us?

The sultry Ms. Johansson may not be everyone's cup of tea, but there's no denying the girl's glamourous.

Obviously Messrs Dolce and Gabbana thought so too, as they've snapped her up (quite literally- take a look at the stunning  promotional picture above) as the face-and body- of their brand new cosmetics line, which is due to launch this Spring.

Stefano Gabbana, one half of the famed Italian designer duo, had this to say on their reasons for picking Scarlett:

"Scarlett is sure of herself. She’s a beautiful girl, but she’s really easy going. She is very Dolce & Gabbana.”

OK, so I'm not entirely sure what boxes you have to tick to be considered "very Dolce and Gabbana", but, hey, if it means you get to be dolled up a la Marilyn Monroe then give me that marker pen!
